Onna-bugeisha (女武芸者) was a type of female warrior belonging to the Japanese upper class. For many wifes and daughters it was an honor and well seen to fight side by side on the battle field with their Samurai men. They were trained in self-defense and offensive maneuvers the same way as men. They used a specific for them designed weapon called Naginata.
The tiger is an important symbol to asiatic culture in general, in Japan this beautiful animal governs the natural forces of wind and rain, different to our occidental culture where the tiger is more related to the element fire. In japanese beliefs, the tiger is the ruler of the cosmos and king of the natural world. It represents heaven and earth, strength, courage and is a protector against evil spirits, bad luck and disease. A tiger by your side will bring you long life, the same way as for the ancient japanese warriors.
If you feel connected to the tiger as your spirit animal, have a look at this other meaningful illustrations.
