I created this self-portrait magic carpet drawing during a day trip through the mountains of my island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. While it captures a personal moment, I believe many women can resonate with the experience I am about to share. On my island, there are enchanting pine forests, and on this particular day, I sat beneath these majestic trees to meditate and revel in the tranquility of nature. As the wind gently rustled through the pines, it produced a unique musical sound that allowed me to deeply connect with the natural surroundings.
Closing my eyes, I transcended into a dreamlike state, experiencing a profound sense of weightlessness. In my imagination, the pareo I was seated on began to lift into the air, carrying me away through the warm sky. It felt as though I were floating on a magic flying carpet, exploring the world from above.
