The combination of trees and snakes is a common existing image since ancient times. The Rod of Asclepius (symbol of a rod with a snake around it), is an ancient Greek symbol associated with medicine, consisting of a serpent coiled around a rod. In ancient Greek religion and mythology, Asclepius was the god of medicine and healing. Healers and those in need of healing invoked Asclepius’ name in prayer and healing ceremonies in temples and at home. General snake symbolism and meanings include healing, wisdom, primal energy, protection, the Earth, stealth, charm, rebirth, and eternity. In this illustration a palm leaf is growing from the snake symbolising the connection to nature and the beginning of life.

You can combine this print with the Snake Palm I Limited Edition Print as shown in the images!
