In the Genesis, the apple tree and the snake symbolizes a temptation. A temptation to pleasure and by the Christian religion called “evil”. But going deep into ancient history, serpents represented divine femininity and wisdom. The Christians wanted to transform the feminine meaning behind the snake because they were aspiring to a patriotic religion, it’s why since then snakes often have a general more negative symbolism. Going back to their true history, serpents and snakes represent fertility or a creative life force. As snakes shed their skin through sloughing, they are symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing. The palm tree growing out of the snake as trunk represents the positive connection to nature, to paradise and to the power of creating the beginninng of everything. It is not in vain that, although in an evil way, a serpent was present in the history of the beginning of life.
