This ark print draws inspiration from Noah’s Ark, the vessel featured in the Genesis flood narrative. In this narrative, God spares Noah, depicted as a woman in my interpretation, along with her family and representatives of all the world’s animals, from a world-engulfing flood. The cosmic river carries her ark southward, near the ancient continent of Africa, guarded by her wild companions. Their journey is destined for a mountain in Turkey, where pairs of every animal species will find protection during the divine deluge that is destined to cleanse the earth.
