El Nahual – Eagle Totem (El Nawal) is a tribute to soul-led living, rooted in the desert landscape of Fuerteventura and inspired by the founder Patricia of El Nawal, a sustainable sanctuary where nature and presence guide every detail.
At the center of the artwork stands a woman, grounded and luminous, her posture meditative yet strong. Dressed in earthy tones, she becomes one with the silence of the desert. A golden eagle — her totem — descends toward her open hand, symbolizing clarity, vision, and the power of inner flight. Around her, tropical plants bloom in minimalist white ceramics, echoing the natural elegance of El Nawal’s design.
The word Nahual (also written Nawal in some Mesoamerican traditions) refers to an ancestral concept of an animal totem or personal guardian. In Indigenous cosmology, your Nahual embodies your deepest truth, your raw essence — a force that walks beside you, both in dream and in waking life. For Patricia of El Nawal, the eagle is that force: fierce, clear-sighted, and profoundly free.
This collaboration was born from the spirit of El Nawal, a conscious retreat surrounded by volcanic landscapes. It is a space of simplicity, silence, and beauty — where everything is designed with intention. From saltwater pools to slow-living rituals, it invites you to pause, reconnect, and live fully. “El Nawal was born from two free souls who broke away from everything that no longer added value.”
