Onna-bugeisha (女武芸者) were female warriors belonging to the Japanese upper class. For many wives and daughters, fighting alongside their Samurai men on the battlefield was considered an honor and was well-regarded. They underwent training in both self-defense and offensive maneuvers, similar to their male counterparts, and wielded a weapon specifically designed for them called Naginata.

The tiger holds significant symbolism in Asian culture, particularly in Japan, where this majestic creature governs the natural forces of wind and rain. This differs from Western culture, where tigers are more commonly associated with the element of fire. In Japanese beliefs, the tiger serves as the ruler of the cosmos, representing heaven and earth, strength, courage, and acting as a protector against evil spirits, bad luck, and disease. Having a tiger by your side is believed to bring long life, just as it did for the ancient Japanese warriors.
