Hatshepsut was the first important female pharaoh of Egypt who ruled long-term over the ancient Nile country. Her name’s meaning was “the foremost of women” or “the first women” paying homage to her first reign as a woman. She belonged to the 18th dynasty of pharaohs. and achieved power with inteligence, wisdom, and without bloodshed or social trauma. The Nile, her principal kingdom was an important spiritual part of ancient Egypt. Hatshepsut and Hapi, the god of the annual floods, controled the annual floods for good harvests. Also, the Nile was considered to be a causeway from life to death and the afterlife. As for the meaning of the word “Nile” itself, historians have confirmed that it is a Nubian word, it goes back to the word “Ni” that the Nubian people still use to describe the river which means “drink”.
